Technical Audit of Bait

In this lesson, we learnt and got a basic grasp on how to use editing software. We edited ‘Bait’ using Final Cut Pro. We were given some tips and hints and were asked to create our own short story comprising of the shots from Bait. This exercise gave us a unique experience on how to use this software, as for our own film, we were needed to use it also.

I learnt many new things about editing and put into effect many different camera shots and angles. Such as ‘match cut’ and ‘shot reverse shot’ and ‘tracking’ as well as ‘low angle and high angle’ using the footage provided.
We did this by using tools such as the ‘razor cut tool’ to separate scenes. We also learnt how to change the layout of the software, deleting unwanted scenes, adding music to change the atmosphere and dragging a clip onto the timeline.
Overall, the exercise was great in helping us how to use the software and getting familiar with the software.
